What is Speed Mooting?
Speed Mooting is a legal training organisation focused on developing advocacy, public speaking, and practical legal skills through competitions, events, and the Legal Skills Academy
Who is Speed Mooting for?
Our events and training are open to all aspiring and junior barristers and solicitors, including students, graduates, career changers, and junior professionals.
Do I need any prior experience to take part in your events and competitions?
No — many of our sessions are beginner-friendly, and we provide everything you need to take part.
What is the Legal Skills Academy?
The Legal Skills Academy is our monthly membership offering live, practical training sessions in advocacy, public speaking, and commercial awareness. Members also gain access to a catalogue of online courses and resources, as well as a Professional Development Journal to track progress and achieve rewards.
Who can take part in your advocacy and mooting competitions?
Our competitions are open to a wide range of participants, including students, graduates, and those from non-law backgrounds.
Qualified lawyers cannot compete although they are welcome to act as judges.
Are tickets refundable?
Tickets for competitions and events are non-refundable. This helps us keep costs low and ensure fair access for all participants
