Q&A sessions with panels of practitioners
One of the most popular features of the National Speed Mooting Competition is the Q&A session we organise. We thought that we would bring you some further sessions for you to enjoy from the comfort of your home. If you would like to virtually attend any or all of the sessions, fill in the form below to register. We will send you the link for the Zoom event so that you can join. You can submit questions in advance using the form below. If you think of any questions after you have signed up, you can send these by email to nationalspeedmoot@gmail.com.
There will be 2 events, each with a different panel and therefore a different focus. The sessions are as follows:
Wednesday 17th February at 7.30 pm - Solicitor Panel
Wednesday 3rd March at 7.30 pm - Barrister Panel
The names of the panellist can be seen below.
The events are open to anyone to attend, whether you are a student, a paralegal or even in practice. Hopefully you will be able to have questions answered in relation to applications, interviews and life in practice. Once you sign up, we will send a confirmation email to confirm that you are registered for the event. When signing up below, you can select as many events as you would like to attend.
The events have been organised by John Dove (Senior Crown Prosecutor).

As always, a well organised event with great topics of discussion and opinions shared by the panellists. There was an interesting variance of questions ranging from the personal developments of legal careers to date, how things stand in today’s world, and what aspiring lawyers can expect to face in the future with changes to the process. Great job, I enjoyed it.
"This event was very relevant and the faculty helpful and supportive. The faculty are all 'coal face' practitioners and were generous in their comments and suggestions.
The platform and video-conferencing was able to support the multiple delegates. The event was free and the questions were moderated. Insights were given regarding pupillage application, mini-pupillages and practice in the early years bar. The moderator kept the session to time and relevant rather than allowing a rambling finish. Overall very good and thankyou."
Thank you so much for hosting a great series of zoom events.
Thank you so much for hosting this session it was really beneficial and a fantastic networking opportunity! I gained so much invaluable advice about the realities of joining the Bar and it has encouraged me to continue developing myself in order to get there!
