About the event
Pupillage Mentoring Evening and Pupillage Q&A Session
Night 1 - Mentoring - Wed 8th Jan 2025 - 7 to 9 pm
Night 2 - Q&A - Thurs 9th Jan 2025 - 7.30 pm to 8.30 pm
Are you thinking of applying for pupillage? If so, this event will be ideal for you. The event will take place entirely online.
On night 1, there will be a roster of barristers on hand to provide one-on-one mentoring. This is mentoring with a Speed Mooting twist!
Those who attend this event will spend 15 minutes in a break-out room with a barrister for an individual mentoring session.
The event will last 2 hours (7.00 pm to 9.00 pm) and attendees will need to be available for the full two hour session. There are limited places available for this session. These will be allocated on a first come, first served basis. We will try to pair attendees up with a barrister from their desired practice area.
On night 2, there will be a Pupillage Q&A.
We will have a panel of those that have successfully navigated the process to secure pupillage. They will be on hand to answer your questions. The number of people who can attend this session is unlimited.
If you would like to virtually attend either one or both parts of this event, fill in the form below to register.
If you wish to attend night 1 (mentoring), we will email you within 7 days of you completing the form to confirm if you have a place or if you are on the reserve list. If you have a place, we will email you with the link and instructions for the event.
If you wish to attend night 2 (Q&A session), we will send you the link for the Zoom event so that you can join. You can submit questions in advance using the form below. If you think of any questions after you have signed up, you can send these by email to info@speedmooting.com.

As always, a well organised event with great topics of discussion and opinions shared by the panellists. There was an interesting variance of questions ranging from the personal developments of legal careers to date, how things stand in today’s world, and what aspiring lawyers can expect to face in the future with changes to the process. Great job, I enjoyed it.
"This event was very relevant and the faculty helpful and supportive. The faculty are all 'coal face' practitioners and were generous in their comments and suggestions.
The platform and video-conferencing was able to support the multiple delegates. The event was free and the questions were moderated. Insights were given regarding pupillage application, mini-pupillages and practice in the early years bar. The moderator kept the session to time and relevant rather than allowing a rambling finish. Overall very good and thankyou."
Thank you so much for hosting a great series of zoom events.
Thank you so much for hosting this session it was really beneficial and a fantastic networking opportunity! I gained so much invaluable advice about the realities of joining the Bar and it has encouraged me to continue developing myself in order to get there!
