The Path to Becoming a Judge

Tuesday 14th September, 7.30pm - 9.00pm, on Zoom

The purpose of this event is for those in attendance to learn about the path to becoming a judge. Both practitioners and students alike are actively encouraged to attend this event. The aim of the event is to encourage those interested in a career as a judge to think about this option as early as possible. The earlier one starts to consider this option, the better prepared one will be when it comes to making the application!

The evening will start with a talk from HHJ Anuja Dhir QC. Anuja sits as a judge in the Old Bailey. Anjua will be talking about her career and her route to becoming a judge. She will also discuss the hierarchy of the judiciary.

There will then be a talk from Jane Furniss CBE. Jane will talk about her role at the Judicial Appointments Commission (JAC) and the application process. She will discuss entry level judicial opportunities that can be beneficial to individuals that have their sights set on a career as a judge. Jane will also discuss the wealth of useful material for aspiring judges on the JAC website.

The evening will end with a Q&A session. Both Anuja and Jane will be on hand to answer your questions.

If you would like to virtually attend the session, fill in the form below to register. We will send you the link for the Zoom event so that you can join.
