About the competition
Put your advocacy to the test in one of the most challenging exercises at the Bar.
A bail application is an oral application asking the court to grant a defendant bail rather than remand them in custody. It requires an advocate to understand the relevant legal framework, identify and respond to concerns about granting bail, and present clear, structured and persuasive submissions to the court.
This competition takes place entirely online, giving aspiring and junior lawyers across the country the chance to compete on equal terms. All materials are provided in advance and no drafting or prior competition experience required.

Who can enter?
This competition is open to anyone looking to develop their advocacy skills. Open to students and graduates from all academic backgrounds, it offers a realistic, high-pressure advocacy experience judged by practising legal professionals. Think you've got what it takes?
